Here’s a hand-picked list of ideas for take-out and delivery across Montreal that we think are worth your time right now, with an eye to including a range of cuisines across a range of neighbourhoods.
If you’re planning to support these local establishments, we recommend phoning in orders directly and picking it up yourself — most restaurants’ delivery options are handled by platforms like Uber Eats and Foodora that take a sizable fee from every order placed, meaning that restaurants get a smaller cut of your money. Furthermore, consider whether you absolutely need delivery instead of pick-up — most local restaurants don’t employ their own delivery drivers or cyclists, and have to turn to companies like Uber Eats to operate delivery (although for larger orders, it can’t hurt to call in advance and ask if a restaurant can deliver without going through those platforms).
